The 2010 Outdoors Show - in association with The Independent The 2010 Outdoors Show, still the UK's largest outdoor activity show this year, despite being somewhat smaller this time round with the absence of the OS and some other exhibitors, was at the NEC on the 26th - 28th March. See below for the answers to the 2010 Beacon Maps complimentary ticket competition. The on-going show website is at www.OutdoorsShowExtra.co.uk For many visitors the array of talks and presentations were the highlight of the show. This years speakers included Ben Fogle and James Cracknell, Kate Humble, Simon King, Joe Simpson (Touching the Void), Leo Holding and Doug Scott. Other highlights included climbing walls, hundreds of outdoor exhibitors, a careers zone, an overhead zip wire (even if it did cause a bit of a distraction during some of the talks) and even fashion shows. This is the last year the Outdoors Show (formerly the OS Outdoors Show) was at the NEC, next year it will move to ExCel in London’s Docklands and join the International Boat Show for four days in January 2011. Outdoors Show VIP Ticket Competition The free ticket competition closed at midnight on Saturday 13th March. The answers to the two questions are given below. Thank you for the record number of competition entries this year and congratulations to all those who sent in the correct answers. Ten lucky winners received a pair of VIP complimentary any-day show tickets. The 2010 competition questions and answers were:- 1. Which is the largest of Great Britain's National Parks? - The Cairngorms National Park is the largest in Great Britain, with an area of approx. 3,800 sq. kilometres. The second largest is the Lake District at about 2,290 sq. kilometres. 2. What is the name of the highest mountain in England and Wales? - The highest mountain in England and Wales is Snowdon (or Yr Wyddfa) at approx. 1,085 metres above sea level.
